Professional chemical exfoliation including Bio RePeel, AlphaRet Peel and Prodigy Peel

Your skin goes through a lot. Changes in weather, sun exposure, stress, breakouts, and the natural aging process can gradually affect how it looks and feels. You may notice dullness that does not improve with at home products, uneven tone that catches your eye in certain lighting, or congestion that makes skin feel less smooth. These shifts are common, and they can be frustrating.

A chemical peel offers a way to gently reset the surface of the skin in a controlled, professional environment. By removing built up, damaged outer layers, the treatment encourages fresher, healthier skin to come forward. The result is often a complexion that looks clearer, smoother, and more vibrant.

Chemical peels use carefully selected medical grade acids to exfoliate the outermost layers of the skin and stimulate healthy cell turnover. This renewal process supports improved brightness, refined texture, and a more even appearance over time.

At PIPS (Partners in Plastic Surgery of West Michigan), licensed aestheticians and skincare specialists take time to understand your skin history, sensitivities, and preferences before recommending a peel. Options range from gentle brightening treatments with little downtime to more corrective formulations for deeper concerns. Each plan is tailored to your comfort level and designed to support healthy, well balanced skin over time.

Benefits of Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can enhance overall radiance and clarity while supporting smoother texture. They are frequently used to address uneven tone, enlarged pores, acne and post acne marks, fine lines, sun related discoloration, rough areas, and buildup of dead skin cells. With thoughtful treatment planning and consistent care, skin often feels more balanced, refreshed, and easier to maintain.

What to expect

Personalized skin evaluation Each appointment begins with a detailed skin assessment. Your provider evaluates skin type, hydration levels, sensitivity, active acne or pigmentation, overall texture, and elasticity. Your daily skincare routine and the results you would like to see are also discussed so the peel selected fits comfortably within your overall skincare plan.

Peel options available at PIPS

Bio-RePeel

Bio RePeel is a bi phase treatment designed to refresh and stimulate the skin with minimal visible peeling. It combines TCA with amino acids, vitamins, and a blend of exfoliating acids to promote renewal while supporting overall skin health. This makes it a strong option for patients who want noticeable improvement with little interruption to their routine.

Bio RePeel is often selected to:

  • brighten dull or tired looking skin
  • smooth uneven texture
  • refine the appearance of pores
  • improve mild discoloration and post acne marks
  • support acne prone or congested skin

Because of its balanced formulation, it is generally well tolerated and suitable for a wide range of skin types. Skin often looks clearer and more refreshed within days, with a healthy glow that continues to develop over the following week. It can be performed as a single treatment before an event or as part of a series to maintain ongoing clarity and radiance.

AlphaRet Peel by SkinBetter Science

AlphaRet Peel blends lactic acid, glycolic acid, and a retinoid component to refine the skin’s surface while encouraging healthy renewal beneath it. The formulation is designed to deliver visible brightening and smoothing in a way that feels comfortable and manageable.

This peel is often chosen to:

  • soften the appearance of fine lines
  • improve uneven tone and mild discoloration
  • smooth rough or dry texture
  • restore radiance to dull skin

support early collagen renewal

AlphaRet Peel is a strong option when you are looking for noticeable refinement without extended downtime. Skin often appears clearer and more luminous within several days, and makeup tends to apply more evenly as texture improves. With a thoughtfully spaced series, results can continue to build gradually, supporting a polished and refreshed look over time.

Prodigy Peel by iS Clinical

Prodigy Peel is a multi acid resurfacing treatment designed for more intensive correction. Its blend of salicylic acid, lactic acid, resorcinol, and citric acid works at multiple levels of the skin to address congestion, discoloration, and thicker texture.

This peel is frequently recommended to:

  • improve acne prone or congested skin
  • reduce persistent breakouts
  • refine visible pores
  • even out pigmentation
  • smooth thicker or more textured areas

For patients who are well prepared and appropriate candidates, Prodigy Peel Pro offers a deeper level of exfoliation. This option can enhance clarity, improve tone, and create a smoother overall surface. Careful pre treatment preparation and clear post care guidance help support comfort and optimal healing.

Choosing between AlphaRet and Prodigy Peel depends on your skin condition, sensitivity level, and goals. During your consultation, your provider will explain what each treatment can realistically achieve and help you select the option that aligns comfortably with your lifestyle and desired level of correction.

Treatment duration

Appointments are typically scheduled for 60 to 75 minutes. This includes consultation, skin cleansing and preparation, the peel application, and detailed post treatment guidance. The peel itself usually takes a shorter portion of that time, with additional minutes dedicated to ensuring your skin is calm and protected before you leave.

Results

Skin often appears brighter and more refreshed within several days. As the surface layers renew, texture feels smoother and tone more even. Mild flaking or dryness can occur, depending on the depth of the peel selected. Over the following weeks, clarity and radiance continue to improve as healthy new cells come forward.

A series of treatments, spaced appropriately, can enhance these benefits and support improvement. With ongoing professional care and a consistent home routine, skin can maintain a clearer, more balanced appearance over time.

Safety and preparation

All peels at PIPS use clinically tested, professionally selected formulations. Temporary redness or sensitivity is common and usually resolves quickly.

For deeper or more intensive peels, including certain Prodigy Peel treatments, a pre treatment consultation is required for new skincare patients. Preparing the skin with proper hydration and supportive home care products helps strengthen the skin barrier and promotes smooth healing. Clear post treatment instructions are provided to support comfort and optimal results.
