Rhinoplasty Benefits
Dr. Hammond, Dr. Van Pelt, and Dr. Kath are skilled plastic surgeons who perform rhinoplasty to improve many attributes of the nose. Your surgeon will compare your nose with your other facial features and create a look that’s tailored to you. Rhinoplasty Procedure
Nasal surgery is performed using an “open” or “closed” procedure. For a closed procedure the incisions are hidden inside the nostrils. When performing an open procedure, the surgeon makes the incision across the columella (the narrow strip of tissue that separates the nostrils). After making the incisions, the surgeon raises the soft tissue and reshapes the nose. Once the nose is reshaped, the tissue is redraped and the incisions are closed.
Certain rhinoplasty patients may also benefit from chin augmentation for a more attractive and balanced profile.
Recovery & Results
After your rhinoplasty, splints or internal tubes may be necessary to help healing, particularly during the first week. For the next few weeks, initial swelling will subside, and your nasal contour will become more refined. It is important to protect your nose from any injury due to physical activity for 4 to 6 months after the procedure. The results of a rhinoplasty are generally long lasting, and many women and men report that they are pleased with their new look.
