* This 51 year old woman had a left mastectomy for her breast cancer. She had decided to have a right mastectomy as well so both breasts were reconstructed at the same time, her left breast in a delayed fashion and her right breast immediately after the mastectomy was completed. Her method of reconstruction included using the latissimus dorsi muscle along with a tissue expanders. Skin from on top of her muscle was used to replace breast skin removed at the time of her left mastectomy. Her right breast was removed using a skin sparing technique which also allowed for immediate nipple & areola reconstruction at the first stage.

Seven months later her second stage reconstruction included replacement of her tissue expanders with moderate profile smooth round silicone gel implants; 250 cc volume on her right and 450 cc on her left. Her left nipple & areola complex was reconstructed and revisions were done to both of her reconstructed breasts and scars. Her breast reconstruction was completed eight months later with tattooing of her reconstructed nipple & areolas.
