* This 43 year old woman developed a right breast cancer. She decided to have bilateral mastectomies and immediate breast reconstruction with latissimus dorsi and tissue expander breast reconstruction. Her reconstructive strategy incorporated a skin sparing mastectomy along with a breast lift pattern. Once her mastectomies were completed the latissimus flaps were raised to provide coverage for the tissue expanders. At the same time her nipple & areola complexes were reconstructed.
Six months later her 2nd stage reconstruction was done as an out patient. Her tissue expanders were replaced with medium height, anatomically shaped silicone gel breast implants with a moderate plus projection. Additional touch-up procedures such as scar revisions and additional tailor tacking were also done at this time.
Four months later her reconstruction was completed by cosmetic tattooing of her reconstructed nipple and areolas. Her result is not only a beautiful breast reconstruction but also an aesthetic looking bust line.
