*Here is a 64-year-old woman who achieved a 121 pound weight loss through bariatric surgery. She came to our Grand Rapids, MI, practice with excess skin circumferentially and needed a circumferential lower body lift. This was done as an outpatient procedure, and she did very well post-operatively. To adequately remove all of the excess skin, she also required a vertical incision to take out a wedge of skin in her upper abdomen. Her umbilicus was freed up and re-sutured in place once the skin was removed and new placement was clear. Her post-op result is at 2 months after plastic surgery, so her incisions are still red. However, they will lighten with time. She has done very well and is very pleased!
