Breast Lift
A woman's breasts can sag due to many factors, including aging, gravity, significant weight loss, and pregnancy and breastfeeding. More youthful-looking breasts are possible with a breast lift, which also raises the nipples and reshapes the breasts for a more appealing appearance. The procedure can be performed as an outpatient surgery and involves only a limited time off from work. Dr. Dennis Hammond and the team of surgeons at Partners in Plastic Surgery of West Michigan offer the SPAIR technique to women considering breast lift surgery in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. This technique limits scarring and improves the aesthetic appearance of the breast.
Our plastic surgeons understand that every case is different and strive to give each patient a unique, one-of-a-kind experience. We have extensive experience with this procedure, have board-certified anesthesiologists on staff, and perform surgeries in our fully accredited facility. Breast Lift Benefits
Breast lift surgery in Michigan can provide several benefits to women wanting more youthful looking breasts, including:
- Lift breasts to a more youthful position
- Proportion the breasts more evenly
- Remove lax, excess skin
- Reposition the nipple and areola higher on the breast
A breast lift only lifts the breast and does not restore volume, so many women choose to combine their breast lift with breast augmentation in Michigan to replace lost volume. During your consultation you will discuss with your cosmetic goals as well as all of your options for breast enhancement.
Breast Lift Procedure
At Partners in Plastic Surgery of West Michigan, we can help you achieve more youthful-looking breasts by using one of two short scar methods. Your surgeon may lift the breast using a circular incision around the areola, or may use the SPAIR short scar technique. The SPAIR adds a short vertical scar extending down from the circle around the areola. Unlike the anchor scar method that leaves scars around the areola, down the breast, and underneath the breast along the inframammary fold, our short scar techniques limit scarring, help maintain shape and allow for quicker patient recovery.
After the procedure, vigorous activity should be avoided for the next few weeks. Light activity may be an option after 1 to 2 weeks after the surgery. Following your surgeon's instructions will help expedite the recovery process.
