Dr. Hammond, founder of Partners in Plastic Surgery, published an article in the June edition of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) summarizing a 6 year clinical study he recently completed on Contour Profile Gel, or CPG, breast implants. These anatomically shaped implants are FDA approved as of July 2012 and will be released into the market. Because of his years of experience with this product Mentor, the producers of these American made implants, recently asked Dr. Hammond to host and teach at the first training session. Doctors from around the country were invited to Grand Rapids June 30th to observe Dr. Hammond during live surgery right here in our PIPS operating room, followed by a weekend of lectures and training. The event was a huge success and we look forward to many more!

Dr. Dennis Hammond was featured on Take 5 & Co. WZZM 13 speaking on Breast Lift/Mastopexy. He discusses with WZZM's Stephanie Web the value, safety and ease of a Breast Lift/Mastopexy.
The eventual sagging of the breast is something all women will eventually encounter, but do not have to live with. The SPAIR technique developed by Dr. Hammond addresses the needs of women as well as some of the common concerns in surgery. The SPAIR technique is a safe breast lift procedure resulting in much less scaring than other procedures. This procedure also offers a very fast recovery time with a return to full activity within a few days.

Dr. Hammond was featured on WWMT Channel 3 speaking about breast reconstruction for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in a segment called "Beating the Odds: Family Tree Breast Reconstruction Segment."
In light of the recent and controversial mammogram recommendations, NEWSCHANNEL 3 shares the story of 28-year old Molly Pretzlaff who opted for a double mastectomy before ever being diagnosed with breast cancer. Pretzlaff, whose family history includes 8 members with breast cancer, had a nearly 90% chance of developing the disease.
Following the double mastectomy, Dr. Dennis Hammond reconstructed both of her breasts using shaped implants and the new SPAIR technique which reduces scarring by 50%. Dr. Hammond, who is a supporter of women who are making the hard decision to preserve their health, feels that recent developments in technique and technology offers those women beautiful, natural results.

Introducing Dr. Ewa Timek
Dr. Hammond would like to introduce his new associate, Dr. Ewa Komorowsk-Timek, MD. Dr. Timek is a board-certified plastic surgeon who graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine and completed her plastic surgery residency at Loma Linda University. She then returned to Stanford, completing a 1 year microsurgery fellowship. Dr. Timek will be seeing patients in our office on Mondays, Wednesdays all day, as well as Friday mornings.
